Ladbrokes Yard Comments QTIS 2YO Handicap (1200m) – 11:53am

Tango Fever can make a winning return to the races at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The More Than Ready filly had two starts for the Portelli yard during her debut prep, running second on the Gold Coast before finishing down the order in the Inglis Nursery.

She has been transferred to the care of Rob Heathcote this time, and she returned a lovely performance in a Doomben trial earlier this month.

Suggested Bet: No. 8 Tango Fever

Bet Now: Eagle Farm Race 1

Country Music Raceday 9 September Class 3 Plate (1000m) – 12:28pm

Devastating is another galloper that can win fresh from a spell in Brisbane this week.

Devastating was a consistent performer in races not dissimilar to this one, last time in, winning in Class 1 company at Ipswich most notably.

He has been competitive at this point of her prep previously and he is drawn to receive every chance.

Suggested Bet: No. 4 Devastating

Bet Now: Eagle Farm Race 2

Teddy Bears Picnic At The Races BM78 Handicap (2200m) – 1:03pm

Carbonetti has been knocking on the door of a win this time gets a great chance to strike at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding was freshened after finishing second at Doomben at the end of May, and returned last weekend to only just missing in BM72 company.

With improvement for that effort, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.

Suggested Bet: No. 7 Carbonetti

Bet Now: Eagle Farm Race 3

Mekkafest 19 August No Metro Wins Handicap (1400m) – 1:38pm

Meritable steps out third-up and ready to strike this week.

The Annabel Neasham-trained entire needed his first run back when ninth, beaten nearly three lengths here back in May, but he was another that was freshened before returning to finish second here a fortnight ago.

With improvement and under Ryan Maloney, he looks a great chance in something like this.

Suggested Bet: No. 1 Meritable

Bet Now: Eagle Farm Race 4

XXXX Dry QTIS 3YO Handicap (1805m) – 2:13pm

Cygnet River faces a rise in class into this contest, but he looks to have a very bright future, and does look up to it.

The Adelaide gelding was an eye-catching second at the Sunshine Coast on debut last month, and he converted that performance into a lovely win here at his latest.

Fitter third-up and further out in trip, he can continue his rise through the grades.

Suggested Bet: No. 8 Cygnet River

Bet Now: Eagle Farm Race 5

Mount Franklin BM78 Handicap (1600m) – 2:52pm

Five Crowns didn’t beat a runner home at Canterbury at his last appearance, but he has continued to strip fitter throughout his campaign, I thought he looked an each way chance at Eagle Garm this week.

The Sacred Falls gelding has exclusively raced south of the border this time in, and he was unlucky not to get there at Newcastle two back.

In peak order, he should get his chance over a mile at Eagle Farm, and he gets in the race well at the weights.

Suggested Bet: No. 10 Five Crowns

Bet Now: Eagle Farm Race 6

Sky Racing Open Handicap (1400m) – 3:32pm

Blaze A Trail takes winning form into the seventh at Eagle Farm on Saturday and looms as the one to beat again.

The classy southerner has improved noticeably with each of his four runs back from a spell and filled the minors in the Eye Liner two back before striking over the 1350m at Doomben last time.

In peak order, something like this looks the next logical step for him to take, and he is my best bet on the program.

Suggested Bet: No. 2 Blaze A Trail

Bet Now: Eagle Farm Race 7

Racecourse Village BM85 Handicap (1200m) – 4:08pm

Outback Action was scratched from a similar race at Doomben last weekend, and given that I was keen on him then, I’m happy to roll that through to Saturday’s program!

We were with him two starts back when he gave them an absolute galloping lesson from a forward position on Neds Mornington Cup Day, and he has been freshened since a tough and somewhat flat run in South Australia.

He’s yet to miss placing when fresh and gets into this race well under Angela Jones.

Suggested Bet: No. 8 Outback Action

Bet Now: Eagle Farm Race 8

Gallopers Sports Club 3YO Handicap (1200m) – 4:43pm

I’m going to give Great Barrier Reef another chance in the last at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Great Barrier Reef is yet to strike in four starts back, and it’s fair to say that he has mixed his form as well, but also didn’t enjoy the best of luck in a tougher race in Sydney last time.

I think the decision to send him north is the right one, and this looks to be about his Saturday metro level, in my opinion.

Suggested Bet: No. 8 Great Barrier Reef

Bet Now: Eagle Farm Race 9
