Rosehill racecourse Horse Racing Tips – 16/11/2013

Trainer John O’Shea looks set to bag an early double at Rosehill this Saturday courtesy of Polarmore, who was very unlucky last start, and White Sage, a future stakes winner. But the most interesting runner is clearly the Queensland sprinter, Cape Kidnappers, who is a rising star for trainer Kelly Schweida.

Race One: Cellarbrations Peachtree Hotel Handicap (73) 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Anyone who backed Polarmore last start at this track would have felt sick. He was about to burst through and win, but got absolutely flattened by Blackboard Special and ended up in sixth. Quality colt who should prove hard to beat.
Big Danger: Good Job Bro couldn’t have been ridden any better by Sam Clipperton last start at Randwick. He looked the winner with 150 metres to go, but got collared late in a three way photo finish by Turbulent Jet, who is a smart horse, and Ashamar. Back to his own age, drawn well, well weighted after the claim, hard to beat.
Roughie:Liked the way Killcareless trialled at Warwick Farm on October 28. Sat wide throughout, but picked up the leaders smartly under a good hold. She has some excellent form surrounding her, including horses like Bull Point and Wordplay.

White Sage is our top selection at Rosehill

Race Two: Cellarbrations Alexandira Plate 1100m Form Guide

Back Me: Our Little Miracle seems great overs at around $13 for trainer Chris Waller and jockey Kathy O’Hara. She trialled On October 29 at Rosehill and ran third to Earthquake, under a tight grip from the rider, and we know what Earthquake done last week. Happy to be on her back.
Big Danger: What you see is what you get with Sheer Style. Jump, run and hopefully hold on. She ran second last week to Earthquake and was excellent in defeat, beating the third horse by six lengths. $2 from barrier nine seems unders, but she has the form on the board, so she has to be included.
Roughie: Didn’t mind the way Stratalena trialled recently, finishing off well without being pressured when second to Freeze The Charges. Drawn the paint and only carries 52kg.

Race Three: Cellarbrations Scone Handicap 1350m Form Guide

Back Me: White Sage is a star, simple as that. Looked very fresh when winning impressively at this track first up and will have improved big time from it. Take the best price you can.
Big Danger: She isn’t racing in great form, but take out the top tip, and Titbit strikes the easiest race she has contested in a very long time. She is overdue to perform well, and she strikes a good race to do it in.
Roughie: Distance is well short of her best, but keep an eye out for Campania to hit the line late. She contested the hot fillies races in the Autumn and was far from disgraced. She’ll sit back, but run on at the end.

Race Four: Cellarbrations Wingham Handicap 1900m Form Guide

Back Me: Chris Waller will win the race, but it’s just a matter of which one. We have stuck with Fulgur, who just got outpaced when resuming here a fortnight back. Extra distance, added fitness and the rise in journey will suit him perfectly.
Big Danger: Secessio was given a peach ride by Reith to get the job done in that race Fulgur ran fifth in. Meets Fulgur 2kg worse off at the weights, so that is a concern, but still should be right in the mix.
Roughie: Hoylonny has been a big flop this time in, producing two duck eggs, but he has trialled really nicely since his last start and he could spring a surprise at $19.

Race Five: Cellarbrations Diamond Beach Handicap 1100m Form Guide

Back Me: Best bet of the day at Rosehill in the shape of Cape Kidnappers, who is a rising star in Queensland. Unbelievable win first up at Doomben, carrying 59kg and not getting any momentum at all in the straight. He still blitzed them and I love the fact trainer Kelly Schweida has sent him down south instead of poking around back at home.
Big Danger: Heart Testa was going to beat home That’s A Good Idea comfortably, but the on pace bias kicked in over the final furlong and the latter prevailed in a great finish. Unknown on wet ground and rises in weight, but in form and on his home track, plus Jason Collett gets back on.
Roughie: Floral Insight did all the work last start in a hot race at Muswellbrook and was caught in the last stride by a handy horse in Darcey. Drops 6.5kg on that run and he’ll get a wet track, which he excels on. $51 is massive overs.

Race Six: Cellarbrations Wadalba Handicap 1350m Form Guide

Back Me: Not surprised to see early support for Travolta given how well he trialled recently and the fact he flies fresh and excels on soft surfaces. Should get a good run either leading or sitting in the slipstream of Madam Nash and prove hard to beat.
Big Danger: Malavio was desperately unlucky in the Epsom, sitting wide with no cover for most of the race and only got beat just over a length, then didn’t handle the Valley at all when down the track in the Crystal Mile. Very good horse who comes in beautifully after the claim.
Roughie: Said Com was a real eye catcher when sixth to That’s A Good Idea first up. As we said earlier, the pattern was leading on the rails, and this horse was out the back, but made up good ground late. Provided the track isn’t too wet, he is a threat.

Race Seven: Cellarbrations Tamworth Superstore Handicap 1500m Form Guide

Back Me: Really keen here on the Canberra filly Got The Goss, who was ultra impressive last time out at Warwick Farm in a race which was set up for the leaders, but she swooped on them and sprinted hard late. Tumbles down to 51.5kg, but not sure if John Kissick can claim all three kilos, so be wary of that punters, but she is very promising and she has been well backed, firming from $10 into $8.
Big Danger: He might have been the punters pal last week in the Emirates, but the week prior Glyn Schofield was on the wrong side of punters thanks to his ordinary ride on Specific Choice, who was backed as if unbeatable. Should have won, but was given no hope from the ride. Very hard to beat from the inside barrier.
Roughie: Akamas deserves another crack in town thanks to two strong wins, the latest of those being in the Muswellbrook Cup where he seemingly looked no chance 200 out, but picked up and nailed them in the last stride. He knows how to win, and draws well.

Race Eight: Bacardi Together Handicap 1350m Form Guide

Back Me: Koroibete was another victim, like Polamore, in that race that saw Blackboard Special run around like he was at a Manchester Pub with Billy Slater. Koroibete was very unlucky there hence why he is nearly favourite here.
Big Danger: Adaboy Lass has a booming late finish when produced at the right time, as he has shown at his past two outings at Warwick Farm. Has to step up a bit in depth, but draws well and drops in weight after the claim for Ichikawa.
Roughie: Hard Liquor was the subject of a good betting move first up, but didn’t fire after missing the start, although his closing sectionals were good against the pattern. $21 seems good overs for a horse that did trial excellent prior to that first up run.
