Paulele wins the G3 Kindergarten Stakes

The Gr 3 Kindergarten Stakes for the babies over 1100m was won brilliantly by Godolphin’s PAULELE (Daw Approach – Chatoyant) on Doncaster Mile day to kick off Day 1 of The Championships.

And trainer James Cummings who always measures his words, was rather animated about his future.

“He is a bit of a weapon this horse,” the trainer began.

“He is quick and strong and the trip to Melbourne and back I think has gotten his career back on track.

“That was an impressive win.”

Damien Oliver rode him and he steered the winner, who started favourite at $5.50, up to the outside of the leader Vandoula Lass from gate rise then was simply too strong down the running to win quite dominantly.

This was win number three from five starts ($267,00 in stake earnings) and he had two and half lengths up his sleeve from ANAGAIN (Hinchinbrook – Doagain) who came home like a rocket from a mile back.

Put her in your Black Book.

ASHEMA (I Am Invincible – Omniscient) got going late also for third.

Said Oliver of the winner, “I had a bit to do with this horse when he was in Melbourne and I really liked him.

“That was a strong effort today.”

Cummings gave the last word, “He is going to develop into a superior 3YO.”
