Might And Power Stakes Tips, Field Preview and Selections – 2021

Just six horses have accepted for this year’s Neds Might And Power Stakes, but all eyes will still be on Caulfield on Saturday afternoon.

He obviously isn’t in the same bracket as the equine superstar (just yet), but Zaaki’s presence in races is already starting to have the Winx effect, as stables and connections alike are evidently terrified to accept.

As it was a couple of weeks ago, it has been the case once more in the Neds Might And Power Stakes.

Understandably, I’ve put Zaaki on top of my 2021 Neds Might And Power Stakes Tips below.

Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Might And Power Stakes – Winner

No. 2 Zaaki

On everything that he has done since arriving in Australia, Zaaki just wins the 2021 Neds Might And Power Stakes.

He is now a two-time Group 1 winner, and he is chasing a sixth-consecutive victory when he steps out on Saturday.

There isn’t a whole lot more to say – I think he’ll be winning.

Might And Power Stakes – 2nd

No. 1 Homesman

He has run a good second behind Zaaki once before, and I think that Homesman will run a good second behind Zaaki in the Ned Might And Power Stakes.

Homesman has been a great galloper throughout his career, and has raced well in some of the country’s biggest contests, and around some of the country’s best gallopers.

He recorded a deserved Group 1 victory in this year’s Australian Cup and a repeat of that effort would see him finishing second on Saturday.

Might And Power Stakes – 3rd

No. 5 Probabeel

She was the best of the rest in the Underwood Stakes and Probabeel is primed for another good performance in the Neds Might And Power.

The multiple Group 1 winner returned a tough performance to win the Cockram Stakes when resuming this time, and she hasn’t been far away at her two subsequent appearances.

Jamie Richards looks likely to have another throw at the stumps with her in this year’s Cox Plate, and she is sure to return another gutsy effort around some world class gallopers in what will be her final tune-up.

Might And Power Stakes – 4th

No. 3 Nonconformist

Nonconformist won passage into this year’s Caulfield Cup at his last start, and I completely understand the decision to have a run in Group 1 company before lining up next weekend.

The Graeme Begg-trained stayer has continued to improve with each of his three starts back this time, and found his best when a tight winner of the Group 3 Naturalism Stakes last month.

2000m clearly suits, and he does look to be the best of the rest in the 2021 Neds Might And Power Stakes field.
