In the news:

Forget Maybe, the horse left on the outer among Anthony Cummings’s Australian Guineas prospects, will be trying to regain autumn carnival traction at Randwick on Wednesday.

Cummings could have up to three Australian Guineas runners on Saturday but last-start disappointment Forget Maybe won’t be one of them.

The colt will instead return to midweek racing for the first time since winning on debut when he contests the 2014 ATC Membership On Sale Handicap (1400m) on the Kensington track.

Guineas plans for Forget Maybe came unstuck against older horses when the three-year-old ran down the track against Ecuador at Rosehill.

“He drops back a long way in class against his own age at Randwick and I would expect him to stand up and be counted,” Cummings said.

Forget Maybe has 59kg topweight in a field that includes Gallatin and Tupac Amaru, two Darley stayers showing enough promise to be put on a path to the ATC Australian Derby.

They can provide a focal point for Darley’s Derby bid in the absence of Spring Champion Stakes winner Complacent because of injury.

“Gallatin and Tupac Amaru are possibilities (for the Derby) and over the next month to six weeks we will know where they are at,” Snowden told Sky Sports Radio.

Cummings has a strong hand at Randwick with Paris Match and Forewarned also expected to run well for the stable.

Paris Match is a $5 third favourite in the Hyland Race Colours Handicap (1550m) as she tries to win for the second time since joining the Cummings string.

Her bloodlines are as potent as any horse racing on Wednesday as the daughter of Group One winner Fashions Afield.

During a glittering career, Fashions Afield never raced beyond 1600m but Cummings has entered Paris Match for the ATC Australian Oaks.

“Who knows if she will get that far this time in but everyone who rides her says she will get further,” Cummings said.

Forewarned has a hat-trick of wins in his sights in the Drummond Golf Handicap after provincial victories at Wyong and Hawkesbury.
