Lindsay Park juvenile heading for 2017 Blue Diamond Prelude

The Lindsay Park stable has unveiled another promising two-year-old filly with Formality racing to a dominant win on debut at Werribee.

The well-bred Formality was sent out the $1.40 favourite in Thursday’s 1100m maiden for two-year-old fillies and strode clear in the straight to win by 4-1/4 lengths.

Formality is by Fastnet Rock out of Jolie’s Shinju, a dual Group One winner in Singapore.

The Lindsay Park team has already produced some smart fillies this season in the juvenile ranks with the likes of leading Magic Millions contender Madeenaty, Catchy and Tulip who have all won city races.

Jockey Mark Zahra said Formality’s win was impressive.

Formality bounced to the lead before being headed on her outside mid-race.

She took over again rounding the home turn, kicking strongly and striding away.

“She was quick out and then was able to relax and then when I gave her a squeeze it was goodnight,” Zahra told broadcaster Racing.com.

Senior trainer David Hayes said the Coolmore-owned filly was likely to chase black-type at her next start, possibly in the Blue Diamond Prelude or the Chairman’s Stakes.
