Healy Stakes a likely target for Burning Passion

Trainer James Cummings decision to chase a wet track paid dividends when Burning Passion have him his third win of the winter carnival on Saturday.

Starting favourite, Burning Passion ($2.60) finished strongly to beat Trevinder ($26) by a length in the Green Options Racing Pty Ltd Handicap at Eagle Farm.

Cummings said Burning Passion had a real liking for wet tracks and that was behind the decision to head north.

“This horse has been good to me and when he worked well at Randwick on Tuesday morning we selected to come up here,” Cummings said.

“He will have a break between runs with a trial but probably tackle the Healy Stakes (on June 24) at his next start.”

Burning Passion has now won five races and four of them have been on wet tracks.

Winning jockey Hugh Bowman said it had been a tough win which would improve Burning Passion.

Cummings has also won recent Brisbane races with Good Standing and Tactical Advantage.
