1. Chautauqua (1) – Odds: $8.00

Proved he was back to his brilliant best with a fighting second in the Canterbury behind Le Romain. Confident he can turn the tables here. Doubt he can beat the great mare.

2. Le Romain (7) – Odds: $11

He saw Chautauqua head him and he just wanted the win in the Canterbury. I think there is more upside with Chautauqua, but Le Romain is a star horse in his own right.

3. Hauraki (2)  – Odds: $26

I thought his first up effort in the Canterbury was full of merit behind the front pair. He has the most upside out of that field that line up here. On that basis, he runs second, but he doesn’t have the class of Chautauqua.

4. Tosen Stardom (9) – Odds: $26

Needs to win a Group l to secure a stud deal. That was why he was wound up to win the Futurity and looked home but was nabbed by Black Heart Bart. Should run okay, but no match for the star mare and a couple of others.

5. Leebaz (3) – Odds: $301

No idea what has happened to this horse because a couple of years ago he was one of the most promising gallopers in the country. Completely off the boil. Won’t trouble these.

6. Mccreery (6) – Odds: $61

Had things fall into place for him in the Liverpool Cup and rightfully finished off. Using this as a tune up for the Doncaster and should run a nice race in preparation for the mile.

7. Endless Drama (4) – Odds: $61

Good effort fresh in the Apollo, then was found wanting in the Chipping Norton. Back to 1500m should suit him and is an outside place chance at very best with the right run.

8. Winx (8) – Odds: $1.16

Do I really need to say anything. Best horse on turf in the world, and IMO the best in the world. Won this race brilliantly last year. Should repeat the dose.

Enormous effort first up at Eagle Farm and was a clear blackbooker…but this is different gravy. Not here.
