Race 1 – 3:05pm – Benchmark 64 Handicap (2200m)

Pilote looks to have found his best form, and he can record another win in the first at Geelong on Wednesday.

The Kevin Corstens-trained gelding didn’t show a whole lot earlier in his campaign, but he charged in to score a dominant win at Ballarat two starts back, and he only just missed in a photo finish at Ladbrokes Park last time.

The small rise in trip should suit, and I am confident that he can get our day off to a winning start.

Race 2 – 3:40pm – All Time Plumbing Maiden Plate (1100m)

Just four of the eleven confirmed starters in Race 2 have previous experience, and several debutants are prominent in the market.

I am happy to stay out of this one from a betting perspective.

Bet Now: Geelong Race 2

Race 3 – 4:15pm – DMB Contracting 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate (1200m)

Order Of Glory looks well placed to break her maiden at Geelong on Wednesday.

The Squamosa filly has made three appearances at the races since debuting in October, filling the minors twice.

She takes her place in this field at peak fitness, and following a credible performance for fourth behind the classy Morioka at Mornington.

Bet Now: Geelong Race 3

Race 4 – 4:50pm – Geelong Homes Maiden Plate (1300m)

Honest Legend returned a fair effort on debut at Bendigo and will take plenty of improvement into his second career starts on Wednesday.

The Not A Single Doubt gelding did race greenly, but I like the way that he hit the line, finishing fourth.

He gets blinkers for the first time this week and is drawn to receive a lovely run.

Bet Now: Geelong Race 4

Race 5 – 5:25pm – Roderick Insurance Brokers Maiden Plate (1700m)

Calmsir has improved for two starts since debuting, and this looks to be a great opportunity for him to break his maiden.

The Proisir gelding finished down the order at Sale on debut, but he mustered a nice turn of foot in what was probably a strong race at Pakenham last time, finishing fifth.

Fitter third-up and from the good draw, he can fight out the finish this week.

Race 6 – 6:00pm – Times News Group BM64 Handicap (1700m)

Eidolon looks well placed to make it two wins in a row at Geelong on Wednesday.

The Busuttin & Young-trained gelding has improved with each of his first three starts back this time, culminating in a bullish win in maiden company last time out.

This is harder, but he’ll take further improvement into the race, and it does look to be the next logical point of call.

Bet Now: Geelong Race 6

Race 7 – 6:30pm – Steigen BM64 Handicap (1100m)

Sayumi hasn’t been seen at the races since February, but she is a notable fresh performer, and I’m confident that her class will take her a long way towards winning the penultimate race at Geelong.

The Sebring mare has been a consistent performer for the Matt Laurie yard, typically in stronger company than she meets this week, since making her debut.

She is yet to miss placing in three previous fresh attempts and with even luck, I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish.

Bet Now: Geelong Race 7

Race 8 – 7:00pm – Elephant And Castle Hotel BM64 Handicap (1300m)

Last-start winner Hauteur can begin her rise through the grades in the last at Geelong on Wednesday.

Hauteur didn’t show a lot during her prep in winter, but returned in the best way possible at Hamilton last month, winning with complete ease.

She’ll only improve for that effort, and this looks another great opportunity for her.

Bet Now: Geelong Race 8
