News:

Trainer Tony Gollan admitted he was shocked when Didntcostalot ran one of the fastest times for the Doomben 1200m in the Group Three George Moore Stakes on Saturday.

Didntcostalot, the $3.40 favourite, clocked 1min08.17secs, a time that was just outside the course record held by superstar Takeover Target.

Stablemate Gundy Spirit ($21) ran home well for second, 3-1/2 lengths back and Fontelina ($4.40) gave Gollan the trifecta when he finished two lengths away third.

Gollan said Didntcostalot was a fast horse which had gone to another level in the George Moore.

“When Charge Account, who was the other likely pace was scratched, I told Tegan (Harrison) it made no difference to us. She was to get out and go,” Gollan said.

Didntcostalot has now won four races and more than $200,000 in prize money since coming from Sydney to join Gollan in July.

“He will have his next start in the Magic Millions Sprint over 1100m on January 9. It is six weeks away and he races well fresh,” he said.

Harrison said she was thrilled to have won because she had the choice of Didntcostalot or stablemate Temple Of Boom.

Chillin With Dylan is bound for Sydney after his win in the Club 100 Handicap (2200m) but his exact campaign is not finalised.

“The distances of the staying races in Sydney seem to be a mixed bag and I have got to have a very good look at which way we will go,” trainer Ben Ahrens said.

“The Summer Cup and Christmas Cup are two options.”

Trainer Rob Heathcote made the right decision when he elected to run Saluter ($6) in the Matthews Builders Handicap (1350m) instead of the George Moore Stakes.

“He would have been competitive in the George Moore but he has been looking for 1350 metres and he was well placed with Alannah Fancourt’s claim today,” Heathcote said.
