Capitalist odds-on for Magic Millions Classic 2015 lead-up

Capitalist is an odds-on favourite to keep an unbeaten record when the colt resumes in the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Winner of the Breeders’ Plate at his only start, Capitalist has been installed a $1.50 chance against nine rivals in one of the main lead-up races to the Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast next month.

The youngster won the Breeders’ Plate by three lengths, setting a benchmark for Sydney’s early-season two-year-olds.

And the Magic Millions and Golden Slipper favourite looked in much the same order for the Snowden stable in stepping out to win a barrier trial at Rosehill last week, running away to score by four lengths.

Capitalist’s Wyong rivals on Thursday will include new stablemate Niccolance as well as Victorian-trained two-year-olds Claro El Banco and Magical Milly.

Niccolance will make his debut for Peter and Paul Snowden after a first-up second to Godolphin’s highly rated Astern when in the temporary care of Greg and Jim Lee.

If the TAB fixed odds market is right, Niccolance is the biggest danger to Capitalist as a $4.60 second favourite.

Eleven runners have stood their ground for the Wyong Magic Millions 3YO & 4YO Stakes including Murt The Flirt and Illustrious Lad from Victoria.

The Snowdens have accepted with Stravigo and Flippant although the former is also entered for Canterbury on Wednesday.

Stratum filly Egyptian Symbol, who also holds an entry for Canterbury, will put an unbeaten record on the line after three provincial wins.
