Rogers hits sixth successive fifty

Chris Rogers has notched up his sixth successive half-century in the Test series against India at the SCG on Friday.

Rogers smashed Bhuvneshwar Kumar through cover for four in the 23 third over of Australia’s second innings on day four of the fourth Test, to bring up his fifty just inside the final hour of play.

The score came on top of two innings of 55 in the second Test in Brisbane, 57 and 69 in the third Test in Melbourne and 95 in the first innings in Sydney.

In what the Australia opener has said will likely be his final innings on home soil, Rogers holed out to Suresh Raina at deep midwicket off the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 56 shortly after bringing up his half century, as the home side pushed for quick runs.
