Preview:

PERTH SCORCHERS (1-4) ($1.73) v BRISBANE HEAT (0-3) ($2.10)

This match will define the season for the Heat who will find it hard to bounce back from 0-4 if they can’t find a win against the Scorchers. Unfortunately it won’t be easy with Perth bowlers Jhye Richardson (4.87) and Jason Behrendorff (5.59) two of the most economical bowlers in the competition. The Scorchers captain Ashton Turner has come out and said he is hoping for a batting friendly deck in Perth, although he might want to take a look at the Heat batting attack and ask whether his own side can keep the pace with them.

Cameron Bancroft over 21.5 runs ($1.88)

Brendan McCullum over 21.5 runs ($1.88)

The Scorchers desperately need to make some runs and stop putting so much pressure on their strong bowling attack. Coach Adam Voges has struggled to find the right openers, using a different combination in every match this season. It’s time for Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Bancroft, two of the most maligned national players to step up. It’s really that simple. The Wolf thinks that Heat batsman Brendon McCullum is ready to break through after a disastrous run out sent him back to the pavilion early against the Hurricanes.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Perth Scorchers ($1.73)

The Wolf knows that it is very difficult to get a win over in the west. The Scorchers have a strong home ground advantage and won their only game of the season against the Adelaide Strikers at Perth Stadium on Boxing Day. This match will come down to how well the Scorchers bowlers deal with Bryant, Lynn and ‘Baz’ McCullum. The Wolf thinks they will get the job done and find their second win of BBL|08.
