Preview:

MELBOURNE STARS (2-2) ($1.90) v SYDNEY THUNDER (3-2) ($1.90)

These two sides have already played once this season with the Thunder winning by 15 runs in a rain affected match at Manuka Oval. Whilst punters were given the first glimpse of the Thunder’s international batting lineup, the Stars were forced into a quick run chase and didn’t handle it well. The Wolf knows that the condensed 8 overs batting time wasn’t the best indication of the Stars true batting strength and we expect them to improve over a full 20 overs.

Highest 1st 6 overs – Sydney Thunder ($1.85)

The Thunder are the highest scoring team in BBL|08 and have been so successful because their deep batting lineup has seen at least one player build a big score each match. They have made 4 scores of 50+ this season, three of them coming from Jos Buttler who is by far the best batsmen in the competition. He is seeing it like a beach ball at the moment. The same can’t be said of Joe Root who is struggling and doesn’t have much more time with the Thunder before he rejoins England to tour the Caribbean.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Sydney Thunder ($1.90)

The head to head market might not be able to split them, but the Wolf can!

If this contest is anything like the weather in Canberra at the moment it is going to be absolutely wild! A hot night with scattered thunderstorms is predicted for this match which will be played at the Carrara Oval.

The Wolf knows that the Stars bowling lineup isn’t as threatening without Lamichhane and that gives the Thunder batting attack a real advantage. Without the Nepalese spinner, the Wolf thinks that the Thunder will get the job done.

BEST BETS: Sydney Thunder ($1.90), Highest 1st 6 overs – Sydney Thunder ($1.85), Jos Buttler over 26.5 runs ($1.88)
