Paine back for Tas v Qld in Shield

Tim Paine will return as wicketkeeper for Tasmania when they take on Queensland in the Sheffield Shield at Bellerive Oval.

The former Australian wicketkeeper has been absent from the state side after breaking his toe training for the Big Bash League.

However, it is not all good news for the Tigers ahead of the opening of play on Monday, with spinner Clive Rose ruled out with a broken finger, suffered last round.

Queensland welcomes back from injury captain James Hopes, who missed the Bulls’ thumping of Victoria last week.

The visitors will be without Ben Cutting, forced out by Hopes’ return.
