New Zealand 9-283 against England

New Zealand, after losing the toss, made 9-283 in the fifth and deciding one-day international against England at the Riverside on Saturday.

Martin Guptill (67) and the in-form Kane Williamson (50) both posted half centuries, while Ross Taylor, dropped on 19, made 47.

New Zealand were indebted to Ben Wheeler’s quickfire 39 not out off 28 balls, including three sixes.

All-rounder Ben Stokes led England’s attack with three wickets for 52 runs from his maximum 10 overs on his Durham home ground, while leg-spinner Adil Rashid took two for 45.

The five-match series is level at 2-2.
