Patton surgery success: AFL Giants

Greater Western Sydney’s No.1 AFL draft pick Jonathon Patton’s knee surgery in Sweden has been declared a success by the Giants.

Patton, who is on his way back to Australia, was diagnosed with patellar tendinopathy or jumper’s knee in his left joint.

General manager of football operations Graeme Allan said the procedure in Sweden had been successful and Patton would now undergo rehabilitation before resuming training on a modified program.

“We want to give all our players, including our draftees, every chance to fulfil their potential and we are pleased that we sent Jonathon to Sweden and he underwent this procedure,” Allan said in a statement.

” … We remain confident that he will be able to resume full training in early April and be available for selection in May.
