The Hawks are storming into finals, and theyre taking no risks in their final outings to make sure they are well-placed in an Elimination Final.
Rampaging starts having created separation that is impossible to overcome for the Hawks opposition, proven last week with their 57-7 start.
North Melbourne was destroyed by the Dogs who themselves were taking no risks, but it was still quite disappointing given the improvements theyve shown in the second half of the season.
Its funny how things change.
Back in Round 6, this was the battle of the wooden-spooners, and since then the Hawks have won 13 of their last 17, with two losses by a point in late comebacks against the Power and Giants.
A win for the Hawks guarantees them a spot in the eight, potentially the top four if Geelong, Brisbane, and the Western Bulldogs all lost, which is unlikely.
The likely scenario is a sixth or seventh place finish based on the Dogs result and would see Hawthorn play either the Dogs or Carlton.
The intense forward movement the Hawks possess will be incredibly hard for the Roos to stop, and at UTAS where they play the ground so well, they will look to strike early again.
Its a good opportunity for the Roos to flick the magnets around in their final hitout, and they could throw in a surprise or two, but ultimately, nothing is stopping the Hawks.
