We’re only a month in, but the season is quickly slipping away for these two clubs.

A 1-3 start is a far cry from the lofty expectations the Dockers set themselves at the end of last year, while the Suns have been equally disappointing, sporting an identical record after setting their sights on a top-eight berth.

So far, scoring has proven a massive challenge for Fremantle, but that only scratches the surface of the long list of problems plaguing Justin Longmuir.

The Dockers gave away too big of a start in the first half against the Crows, and while they did well to win the clearances by a clear margin, they were blown off the park in both contested possessions and marks inside 50.

The Suns have had similar problems for the first four rounds, struggling to get their hands on the footy at times and failing to make use of it in front of goal.

Both clubs are capable of beating anyone if they show up on the day, but you can’t overlook the fact the Suns are 0-9 at the Adelaide Oval since entering the competition in 2009.

Maybe more importantly, the Suns have also been one of the worst teams at getting the ball inside 50 – a recipe for disaster against a Fremantle side that has given up over 80 points to an opponent only once this year.
