Melbourne will continue to play AFL matches in the Northern Territory for at least another two years.
This is the fifth season that the Demons have played in Darwin and they will host Fremantle there on Saturday.
They also came close to pulling off a major upset in round 11 when they played Port Adelaide in Alice Springs – the first time the central Australian town has hosted a match for premiership points.
Melbourne will play two NT games per season next year and in 2016 – one in Darwin and the other in either Darwin or Alice Springs.
