AFL Round 21 Odds, Big Bets and Betting Preview – 2021

The absence of half-a-dozen big-name Giants has contributed to the tighten for Geelong in tonight’s AFL clash, but TAB punters are thinking much bigger than Rd 21 for the Cats.

They continue to be the best-backed team in premiership betting with TAB this week accepting a $20,000 bet at $3.75. Geelong is now $3.50 and accounts for almost 25% of TAB’s hold on the premiership market with early favourites Richmond (18%) the only other team over 15%.

That wasn’t the only $20,000 bet TAB was hit with this week with one punter placing that amount on the Tigers to make the Top 8 at $3.25. The Tigers have been $1.48 into $1.40 for tomorrow’s clash with North Melbourne ($2.60 to $2.90).

Richmond and GWS are among seven teams battling it out for the final two spots in the eight, along with Carlton, who one punter thinks will not only play finals, but possibly win the flag, having $200 on them $151 for a potential collect of $30,200.

The big mover in Rd 21 betting has been Collingwood, which was the $1.95 outsider against Hawthorn when the game was scheduled for Tasmania but is now a pronounced $1.68 favourite with the Hawks $1.85 out to $2.15.
