Adelaide’s Crouch breaks a leg

Adelaide midfielder Brad Crouch has broken a leg, compounding the Crows’ bleak start to the AFL season.

Crouch fractured the fibula in his left leg in Adelaide’s 55-point loss to Port Adelaide on Saturday.

The Crows expect Crouch to miss about six weeks, giving coach Brenton Sanderson another worry.

Sanderson was disturbed by the Crows’ heavy defeat to Port on Saturday which followed a 38-point loss to Geelong in their season-opener.

The Crows have managed just 11 and 12 goals in their respective games from a malfunctioning forward line without injured attackers Taylor Walker, Tom Lynch and Andy Otten.

“I know it’s a very different (forward) group to what we saw last year,” said Sanderson, who noted the Crows had won just two of their eight quarter this season.

“We have got some guys with injuries – Otten and Lynch, who are pretty important to that mix.

“We will have a look at our setups and we’ll probably make some adjustments next week.”
