Cooper Vuna has been granted a release from his Super Rugby contract with the Melbourne Rebels to join Japanese side Toshiba.
The Rebels said on Tuesday the 25-year-old will leave the club at season’s end, playing his final match on July 12 at AAMI Park.
Vuna, formerly with NRL sides the Warriors and Newcastle, has played 33 Super Rugby matches since switching codes in 2010.
But the winger has been limited to just four games this season after being sidelined with shoulder injuries dating back to August last year.
He was also suspended over his involvement in an alcohol-fuelled scuffle with Rebels teammates Kurtley Beale and Gareth Delve in March.
Rebels captain Delve is also leaving the club at the end of the season, along with Ged Robinson and Richard Kingi.
