We have only one Monday Night Football game scheduled this year, ending a 15-year run of Week 1 doubleheaders.

Fortunately, this promises to be a good one from Vegas between a dangerous-looking Raiders side and a Ravens team that fell well short of expectations last year in the playoffs.

The Ravens are favoured to bounce back and start their season with a win, but I think there’s a case to be made for the Raiders with Baltimore nursing a few key injuries.

Justice Hill, Miles Boykin and J.K. Dobbins are all out indefinitely, while there’s also come concern surrounding wide receiver Marquise Brown.

That list leaves Lamar Jackson short on some of his top playmakers, which might not bode well against a Vegas offence that added Kenyan Drake to compliment Josh Jacobs and Henry Ruggs.

The Raiders are also one of those teams that tend to start the season well – evident in the fact they’ve covered in four of their last five games played in Week 1.

With fans finally in attendance for their first look at Allegiant Stadium, the Raiders look a good bet to keep this close.
