Australia have set the West Indies an unlikely target of 370 for victory in the third Test in Dominica.
Resuming on 6-200, Australia added 59 runs to their second innings total as Windies spinner Shane Shillingford created his own piece of history on Thursday.
Shillingford took 4-100 which, after his six-wicket haul in the first innings, makes him the first Windies spinner since the great Lance Gibbs in 1966 to take 10 wickets in a Test match.
The 29-year-old’s efforts are likely to be in vain though, with Mitchell Starc scoring 21 to lift Australia’s lead past 350.
Michael Hussey fell first on the fourth morning, caught sharply by Windies captain Darren Sammy off Shillingford for 32.
The veteran left-hander was the last of Australia’s recognised batsmen with Ryan Harris (nine) falling just three overs later when he top-edged a sweep off Narsingh Deonarine (3-45) which wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh caught easily.
Then Shillingford, a Dominican, delighted the home crowd when he completed his 10-wicket haul after Kraigg Brathwaite took an athletic catch at silly point to dismiss Ben Hilfenhaus for six.
Starc and Nathan Lyon (12no) added plenty of nuisance value with a 22-run stand for the last wicket before Roach bowled Starc to claim his third wicket and end the innings.
