Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has allayed fears of a major injury setback for Ben Reid.
But don’t expect to see the sore swingman back in the AFL until the second half of the season.
Reid underwent scans on Tuesday morning, having been unable to finish the Magpies’ VFL game two days earlier.
“There’s no muscle disruption. We’re treating it like a mild corkie,” Buckley said.
“He may be running in two days. He may be a chance to play (VFL) this week.
“We believe second half of the year is probably when we’d hope to get him back (in the AFL).”
Reid visited a German specialist in January, with the AFL club keen to solve the 25-year-old’s recurring soft-tissue problems.
“His progress has been excellent,” Buckley said.
