Hawthorn Hawks outright favourite to win 2012 AFL Premiership

Hawthorn remain outright favourite for the AFL Premiership with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au, firming from $3.50 into $3.20, while GWS, the team they hammered by 162 points on Sunday, have tightened from $1.85 into just $1.55 to win the dreaded wooden spoon.

The Hawks head the market from Collingwood, who’ve eased from $4.00 to $4.25, while West Coast ($6.00) and the Sydney Swans ($8.00) round out the top four contenders in betting.

Essendon were the biggest drifters after Round 15, easing from $11 to $15, while St. Kilda firmed from $34 into $21.

“Hawthorn and Collingwood have been taking it in turns being the premiership favourite, but after their massive percentage booster over the Giants, the Hawks have put a gap on the Pies,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.

At the other end of the table, Gold Coast drifted from $1.95 out to $2.40 to avoid the wooden spoon despite remaining winless.
