The 2014 AFL season is five rounds old and Sportingbet believes Gold Coast’s Gary Ablett and Geelong’s Steve Johnson have amassed the most Brownlow Medal votes thus far.
In a new market opened by Sportingbet today, Ablett and Johnson are $2.75 equal favourites to be leading the Brownlow vote count after Round 5, with Joel Selwood ($4.50) and Nick Riewoldt ($8) the only other two under double figures.
“Our analysts actually have Johnson on ten votes and Ablett on nine votes but we expect the punters will come for Ablett,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
“Ablett is almost a certainty to have received maximum votes in all three of the Suns’ wins so far this season while Johnson has most likely polled in every match except Round 3 against Collingwood.”
