Stan Wawrinka has continued his quest for a second Australian Open crown with a straight-sets second-round win over American Steve Johnson.

The fourth seed’s 6-3 6-4 6-4 victory was far more routine than his desperate five-set comeback win on Monday night.

Wawrinka, who could meet Australian No.1 Nick Kyrgios in the fourth round, next plays either Italian Paolo Lorenzi or Serbian seed Viktor Troicki on Friday.
