US Open seeds Cilic and Tsonga progress

Marin Cilic, the 2014 champion, has won his US Open opening-round match against aptly named American Tennys Sandgren on Monday.

Cilic has been nursing a left leg injury but managed to produce 55 winners against the 105th-ranked Sandgren.
