Former finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is through to the second week of the Australian Open following a straight-sets defeat of American Jack Sock.
Tsonga, who lost the 2008 title match to Novak Djokovic, beat Sock 7-6 (7-4) 7-5 6-7 (8-10) 6-3 to reach the last 16 for the eighth time at Melbourne Park.
The 12th-seeded Frenchman next plays the winner of Friday’s third-round match between Australian Bernard Tomic and Englishman Dan Evans.
