Samantha Stosur has booked a place in the quarter-finals of the Connecticut Open with a straight-sets win over world No.8 Eugenie Bouchard.
Stosur won 6-2 6-2 and will play Belgium’s Kirsten Flipkens, who came from behind to upset Andrea Petkovic of Germany 4-6 7-6 7-6.
“She came out firing. I thought I was going to be able to attack more but I couldn’t,” Bouchard said.
