Australia’s 2011 champion committed 30 forehand errors in slumping to a 6-3 6-3 loss to her Chinese doubles partner Zhang Shuai.
Stosur’s exit leaves Nick Kyrgios as Australia’s last remaining player in the singles draw at Flushing Meadows.
