Australian Samantha Stosur was closing in on a second-round victory over Kristina Mladenovic when play was stopped.
She led the unseeded Frenchwoman 6-4 4-1 on Philippe Chatrier Court.
The winner of the match will face Jelena Jankovic in the third round, after the 18th-seeded Serbian cruised to a 6-3 6-0 over Spaniard Garbine Muguruza on Thursday morning.
Australian Ashleigh Barty was due to face Russian 12th seed Maria Kirilenko later on Thursday.
