John Peers has helped eliminate his Davis Cup teammate Sam Groth from the quarter-finals of the Australian Open men’s doubles.
The Melburnian teamed up with Finland’s Henri Kontinen to oust Groth and former Davis Cup doubles representative Chris Guccione 7-6 6-3.
The fourth seeds next take on Australian wildcards Marc Polmans, who is only 19, and Andrew Whittington after they eliminated French top seeds Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert.
