No seeds in Bogota tennis quarter-finals

The last two seeded players were knocked out of the Copa BBVA Colsanitas claycourt tennis tournament in Colombia on Thursday in second-round matches.

Top-seeded Marina Erakovic of New Zealand was beaten 6-4 6-4 by Edina Gallovits-Hall of Romania while No.5 Gisela Dulko lost to Alexandra Panova of Russia 7-5 6-2.

In other second-round matches, Italy’s Karin Knapp defeated Catalina Castano of Colombia 6-3 2-6 6-2, and Paula Ormaechea of Argentina downed Slovenia’s Petra Rampre 6-4 3-6 7-6 (7-4).

All eight players in the quarter-finals are ranked outside the WTA’s top 100.
