Murray increases Australian stay

Andy Murray hopes a new approach to his Australian Open preparations can help him make a breakthrough at Melbourne Park this year.

The world No.2 arrived in Australia two weeks ago for training and the Hopman Cup – his longest lead-up to the first slam of the year.

The four-time finalist has never cracked it for a success in Melbourne but believes 2016 could be his year.

“I love playing here and I’ve played some of my best tennis here … if I keep working hard and giving myself opportunities hopefully I’ll be able to win,” he said in Melbourne on Monday.
