Tereza Mihalikova has claimed the 2015 Australian Open junior girls’ title with a straight-sets win over Britain’s Katie Swan.
Mihalikova, from the Slovak Republic, was unseeded in the tournament, but put on a powerful display of tennis to reach the final where she dispatched her 14th-seeded opponent 6-1 6-4 on Saturday.
The match wasn’t without drama with Swan hampered by a thigh injury that she received treatment for in the second set.
Mihalikova is the first Slovakian to win the junior title at Melbourne Park.
