Austrian number one Juergen Melzer will lead his country in their Davis Cup World Group 1st round tie against Russia at Wiener Neustadt, near Vienna from February 10-12.
Alongside 41st-ranked Melzer, Austrian team captain Clemens Trimmel also named 128th-ranked Andreas Haider-Maurer for singles duty with a possible doubles lineup of Alexander Peya and Oliver Marach.
The Austrians are bidding for their first win over Russia after losing both of their two previous meetings against the former Soviet Union in the early 1980s.
Two-time champions Russia are expected to line out with Alex Bogomolov, Mikhail Youzhny, Dimitri Tursunov and Nikolai Davydenko.
