Australian teen tennis sensation Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from next week’s Hall of Fame Championships in Newport, Rhode Island, citing a hip problem and fatigue.

Kyrgios, 19, stunned the tennis world at Wimbledon on Tuesday in his upset fourth-round victory over world No.1 Rafael Nadal, downing the Spaniard 7-6 5-7 7-6 6-3 before he fell to Milos Raonic, of Canada, in the quarter-finals 6-7 6-2 6-4 7-6.

The Canberran had already signalled he was a force to be reckoned with at the All England Club when he defeated world No.14 Richard Gasquet, in the second round.

Kyrgios’ aggressive, attacking style enthralled the Wimbledon crowds, inviting comparisons with former champions Boris Becker and Pat Cash.

In a Twitter post, Kyrgios, who had received a wildcard invitation to the Newport ATP grasscourt event, said he was pulling out.

“Unfortunately due to hip issue & tiredness I am not playing in @TennisHalloFame in Newport but thanks for the WC offer guys and good luck,” he tweeted.
