Kyrgios into Cincinnati Masters final

Nick Kyrgios has surged into the final of the ATP Tour’s Cincinnati Masters, beating Spain’s David Ferrer 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (7-4) in his semi-final.

The 22-year-old Australian will play Grigor Dimitrov for the title after the Bulgarian tamed the big serve of John Isner to win 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (12-10) in Saturday’s earlier semi-final.

Tuning up for the US Open in just over week, world No.23 Kyrgios has been on a roll in Cincinnati and beat Ivo Karlovic then world No.1 Rafael Nadal on the same day on Friday to make his semi-final.

He will be seeking his fourth and biggest tour title – the first at Masters 1000 level – following wins in Tokyo, Atlanta and Marseille last year.
