Konta dumps Gavrilova out of Sydney tennis

In-form sixth seed Johanna Konta has knocked Australian No.2 Daria Gavrilova out of the Sydney International 6-1 6-3.

The last Australian in the women’s draw had no answers on Tuesday to Konta, whose 29 winners more than doubled those of Gavrilova on Ken Rosewell Arena.

The 22-year-old, who reached the round of 16 at the Australian Open last year, heads to Melbourne with two wins from her five matches in Hobart and Sydney.

Johanna Konta’s win has caught the eye of punters who have bet on the star player to receive Australian Open free bets.
