Kleybanova back from cancer treatment

Former top-20 tennis player Alisa Kleybanova says she has completed her treatment for cancer and will play at the upcoming Sony Ericsson Open.

The 22-year-old Russian announced in July that she had contracted Hodgkin’s lymphoma and would undergo treatment in Italy, where she has a training base.

She said in a posting on the WTA website on Wednesday that the “treatments were successful, my doctors are happy with my health and I’m feeling great!”

Kleybanova, who has won two singles titles, is training in Florida and says she has been given a wild-card entry into the Sony Ericsson Open, which begins on March 20.
