German Angelique Kerber will have the chance to begin her 2016 season with a title after reaching the final of the Brisbane International on Friday.
The fourth seed will play either two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka or American qualifier Samantha Crawford after eliminating Carla Suarez Navarro on Pat Rafter Arena.
Kerber took just 75 minutes to defeat the Spanish sixth-seed 6-2 6-3.
The world No.10 will be aiming for an eighth career title after picking up four titles in 2015.
The victory was Kerber’s first win in her fourth-straight quarter-final appearance in Brisbane.
Former world No.1 Azarenka is aiming to reach her third Brisbane final when she meets 20-year-old Crawford later on Friday.
Azarenka has not lifted a trophy since 2013 and is aiming to make a perfect start to her Australian Open preparations after two years marred by injury.
The Belarusian holds a 5-0 career record against Kerber while the German won her sole encounter with Crawford in Mexico in 2013.
