German fourth seed Angelique Kerber has advanced to the second round of the Brisbane International with a three-set win over Czech Anna Tatishvili.
The world No.5 recovered from a mid-match stumble to win 6-2 4-6 6-2 in the first match at Pat Rafter Arena on Monday.
Kerber next faces either Australian wildcard Olivia Rogowska or qualifier Monica Puig for a place in the quarter-finals.
