Japan’s Kei Nishikori jumped six places to 16th in the world in the latest ATP rankings published on Monday while the top 10 is unchanged with Novak Djokovic on top.

Marinko Matosevic is Australia’s top-ranked player improving 14 places to No.39 while compatriot Bernard Tomic moved one place up to 45.

A devastated Matosevic on Saturday was forced to retire injured in his semi-final against Nishikori at the US Indoor Tennis Championships in Tennessee.

Matosevic had to pull out with a bone bruise in his right foot after losing the first set 6-4.

The 23-year-old right-hander Nishikori rose from 22nd thanks to his 6-2 6-3 victory against Spain’s Feliciano Lopez in the final of the US Indoors.

Lopez’s appearance in the final saw him jump 12 places to world No.35.

Serbia’s Djokovic stays world No.1 with 12,960 points, followed by Roger Federer, of Switzerland, on 9855 and Britain’s Andy Murray on 8480.
