Gavrilova goes down in Indian Wells

Daria Gavrilova has been thrashed by Ukrainian Elina Svitolina in the third round of the Indian Wells tennis tournament in California.

The Australian was hammered 6-2 6-1 by the 10th seed on Sunday (Monday AEDT) in a lop-sided affair.

Gavrilova was the last remaining Australian in the singles draw at the $US7 million tournament after Samantha Stosur was knocked out by Julia Goerges in round two.
