Richard Gasquet defeated fellow Frenchman Benoit Paire 6-2 6-3 to win the ATP Sud de France Open in Montpellier on Sunday.

It was Gasquet’s second tournament win of the year, having triumphed in Doha in January, and the ninth of his career.

“I was ranked seventh in the world six years ago and I have come back well this year,” said Gasquet.

“It’s great to have won two tournaments already this season and I just hope I can win others.”
