Punters with online bookmaker sportsbet have jumped on the Casey Dellacqua bandwagon, with the Aussie firming from $1.90 into outright favouritism at $1.67 for her Round 3 match at the Australian Open today.
The move came overnight, with more than three times the money coming for Dellacqua, with her opponent Jie Zheng drifting from $1.90 to $2.22 as a result.
“It was a 50/50 match less than 12 hours ago but the punters have well and truly come for Casey and she is now clearly outright favourite,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
Despite punter support for Sam Stosur, she remains the $2.26 outsider against Ana Ivanovic ($1.64).
