Wolves’ O’Hara fumes after clash with fans

Wolves midfielder Jamie O’Hara has launched a furious attack on his club’s supporters after a group allegedly rowed with the player and his fiancee following a 2-0 home defeat against Blackburn.

O’Hara claimed to be holding his young son when he was confronted by Wolves fans angry at the lacklustre nature of a loss that pushed his struggling side closer to relegation from the Premier League.

“I’m as gutted as any fan 4 today but can’t be aving people wanting to fight me when I have my son in my arms, disgrace. I’m giving everything,” O’Hara tweeted on Saturday.

O’Hara’s partner, model and TV presenter Danielle Lloyd, was equally unimpressed with the fans’ behaviour.

She tweeted: “Fuming! How dare protesters start on Jamie when he is carrying our son! Am disgusted, should be ashamed! F****** disgrace.

“I don’t expect to get into a fight with fans outside the ground. It’s a disgrace, am so upset. I’ve been through enough the last few weeks.”

Wolves fans – some of whom had staged a protest before the match – booed the team at the final whistle and there were demonstrations outside the ground after the game, with club chairman Steve Morgan eventually going to speak to those involved.

Wolves have won only one of their last 14 league fixtures and Saturday’s loss left them one point adrift of safety with 10 games left to play.

O’Hara, who joined Wolves from Tottenham for STG3.5 million last year, has been with 28-year-old former Miss England model Lloyd since 2009 and the couple have two children aged under two, Archie and Harry.

Lloyd recently suffered health issues which have caused her to lose weight.
